Meet Imani
Hello, my name is Imani Hutchins, and I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula serving families throughout New England. I am the founder of The Doula Affect, a care-centered practice rooted in presence, advocacy, and intentional support before birth and beyond. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Studies with a minor in Addiction Counseling, which informs the way I support families through complex and deeply personal transitions.
As a Worcester native, community has always been at the heart of my work. I am passionate about creating safe, affirming spaces for families from all walks of life—spaces where individuals feel heard, respected, and supported as they navigate pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
Becoming a doula was a leap of faith guided by lived experience. After receiving meaningful, compassionate support during the birth of my own child, I knew I wanted to offer that same sense of ease, care, and advocacy to others. Through The Doula Affect, my goal is for every family I serve to feel supported, informed, and confident in their voice—because the care you receive during this season has a lasting affect.
